I would like to extend a huge Thank You to Dirk, Sandy, Kristie and Karla for collaborating together and building this site! I have stated previously that chasing this dream of Painting has been inspired by people who have seen in me something that I sometimes miss seeing in myself. This is one of those occasions. Thank you for taking the time to structure and build a part of my dream in the form of a web site. In doing so, I now have a platform to share with a wider world the art that My creator placed in me. Thank you for that! I hope that you will receive the same from others as you complete your education and pursue dreams of your own. Blessings to you and once again, Thank You!

In the beginning… now there is a way to start a blog, and a really popular book! I am starting this blog at the behest of my wife. She is my best friend and the one here on earth that teams up with The Ancient of Days, and pushes and prods me into actually starting those things in my life that I know I can be excellent in, but seldom have the courage to try on my own. You will notice a theme here, and that is she is a huge inspiration for me and my artwork. I also will write about my daughter whom we had the privilege of adopting, and is The bravest human that I know. I also will write about my Lord and King Yeshua. I love them all passionately.

My plan is to share pieces of me through the art and stories of my life. I hope you learn to appreciate art from almost any source and I hope you can laugh a little or share in a bit of my life… In addition I would like to get to know you, the reader, the art connoisseur. What are your likes and dis-likes, your interests, hobbies or dreams?.. enjoy

The piece I am sharing today was the very first piece I painted as I started this Journey. It was early spring 2009. Karla and I had been spending serious time in conversation about chasing our dreams, and art had been mine since I was a young lad in the hills of Ireland, err, the panhandle of Texas! My Grandfather Joe Robert was a self taught artist and lover of nature. It was from Him that I gained my appreciation for Gods creation, and my love of art. As a young boy I can remember visiting my grandparents house and going into the room with the easel and canvas, smelling the linseed oil and paint! I loved to look at the stacks of books he had gathered for inspiration and seeing his finished works hanging around the house. I have the privilege of displaying some of his works in my own home. The one regret I have in pursuing art is that he will never get to see any of my work. So, that early spring of 2009, my wife gave me the go ahead to start chasing and I said OK! and then did nothing. After several people speaking into my life, I went to Wal-Mart, purchased a four dollar set of children’s water colors and painted the piece below from a mail circular that arrived that day. I haven’t looked back since. I call it sentinel of the forest and I hope you enjoy it!

I’ve been challenged to chase my dreams, what dreams could you chase?
